Closed-door event “Syria in Transition: Regional Dynamics and V4 Engagement”

On September 24, 2026 the Prague Centre for Middle East Relations (PCMR) at CEVRO University in collaboration with the Slovak organisation Khayrion and the Syrian Omran Center for Strategic Studies organized a closed-door expert event in Damascus, Syria, on the topic of “Syria in Transition: Regional Dynamics and V4 Engagement”, attended by Syrian government officials, researchers and experts, alongside diplomats and representatives of think tanks from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

The event was held under the Chatham House Rules.

Across four sessions, experts discussed Syria’s political transformation and security, changes in the regional landscape, economic reconstruction, and opportunities to develop relations between the V4 countries and Syria.
